It's with great saddness...

that I post my final post to this blog. My Journey is sadly over...I lost my twin loves on 8/28/09 at 18 weeks 3 days. It has been the most life changing, heartbreaking experience I have ever had to endure. I have tried to copy and paste my story but it won't let me here, so here's the short story. I just tried to retype everything I wrote before, but it's too painful to do that so here's the jist....

I went into preterm labor on 8/27/09. I was 18 weeks 2 days that day. I was at home about to get into the shower then blood gushed everywhere. I rushed to the hospital and called hubby to tell him to leave work.

I was checked and told I was 3-4 centimeters which was devastating. My doc told me that there was stil slight hope....that I may not deliver at all and just be on hospital bedrest the rest of the pregnancy or that I may nly end up delivering 1. Unfortunate for us, neither of those two happened.

On 8/28/09 I gave birth to two beautiful little girls...McKynzie Nicole and McKayla Latrice. How beautiful they were! McKynzie lived for 2 hours while we helped her transition over to be with the Lord. McKayla was born still. How I love those girls and yearn for them.

I dread pushing the publish button...it really IS the end. I wanted those babies so very desperately. I so enjoyed being pregnant again.....now of the title of my blog, Our Journey to a new addition or two...all I have is two memory boxes, a ton of clothes and equipment for my girls that will never be used by them, milk coming from my breast that will never nurture them, and a hole in my heart that can never be replaced. With that, this has to end. I am doing a new one just about our new life now with the loss and about our loss. Stay tuned.

OMG it's been ages.....

These are 15 weeks shots but I am now 17 weeks!!!

but it's also been busy so please forgiveme. I'll update everything I can remember since being gone snce it's been THAT long.
I am THRILLED to announce we are having TWO BABY GIRLS!!!!!!!! My "secret" desire is a dream come true!!I posted before on how I would name the girls the names my family called myself and my cousin that's deceased but we decided to use that same cousibs middle name as one of the girls' middle names (latrese) and another cousin of mine middle name for the other(nicole) this cousin is also deceased.

They will be McKynzie Nicole and McKayla Latrese.

My pregnancy has been a blessing. I had a few bumps in the road...I had bleeding from week 10 until week 14. I was in L&D at 12 weeks due to a gush of fluid....even though they STILL dont know what that was. I had nausea BADLY from week 8 until week 13.....but it's been all uphill since, praise God!!!

The doc said the girls are kinda big, so she is not letting me go past 35 weeks. I will NOT let her induce me that early. She's gonna have to wait until 36 weeks. At least I know their lungs will be ok on the outside! 35 weeks is still so touch and go with that lung issue. So, I will bring in the New Year with these girlies.

The kids are over the moon about the twins being girls! Even DJ, which is a total shock. HE was disappointed that I didnt name one of the girls Precious as that was so in his heart, but I could not come up with a second name to go with it that was cute. They all like the names we are going with so thats good.

I have been a shopping NUT since finding out! Yes they will be matchy matchy twins until they either say they no longer wantto dress alike or I get tired of doing it LOL!

Appointment on 6/18/09

Sorry that I am almost an entire week late at updating.

I went in last Wednesday. I had my ultrasound and prenatal panel bloodwork done.

My Twinkies...
They are doing great! And I am in awe of them. They have little heads and arms that you can clearly make out :D Both h ave heart rates in the 160s.According to the old wives tales, that says girls, but we will see! I am secretly wanting two girls LOL But of course will love and be happy with what God blesses me with!

My blood panel results....
Everything was normal except glucose. Its slightly elevated. I have to go in tomorrow to have it redone. I have to fast tonight for more accurate result. Please pray that everything will be fine.

I will try to update this sometime tomorrow. I can't wait to peek at my little baby loves again tomorrow!!!!

Appointment on 6/10/09

Here's the grand finale of the queston how many...there's 2!!!

Baby B is to the left, Baby A is to the right. Baby B's sac is slightly smaller, but he/she has caught up in size to Baby A. We are really happy to finally have an answer! Even more excited to be expecting twinkies!

My blood pressure and weight was great. I go back next Wednesday to check on the babies
via ultrasound again. I then get my bloodwork panel done. Then I will be released to my regular OB, which I already made an appointment for on July 2!!!

Ultrasound Monday 6/1/09

Well there's DEFINATELY two sacs!

The thing is, they are very unclear on the status of Baby b.

Baby A is right on target! Baby B is WAY off. There is only a sac for Baby B and they couldn't tell if anything is inside of it or not. Even with that, we still classify it as 2 until we take a closer look next Tuesday June 9,2009.

I am ok and at peace with whatever way the story turns. I know it's what God wants for me. Before going into this, I asked his Will be done no matter what it is that his Will is.....and I know he will do just that....make his Will done.

I'm 6 weeks as of today. So far, so good. I have had a few major cravings which are Hot Pickles, Fish Sticks and Mint Chocolate Chip Ice cream. I have been fatigued out of this world! Oh my I'm tired! I have never been this tired with the others. It's to the point that I plan my day around taking a nap now LOL

They were concerned with the fluid I have ( Mild ohss) but after closer look, said it's not serious and that I can continue to drink fluid to flush the extra out through my kidneys!

So there's my update. Will know more about Baby B on 6/9/09

Ultrasound from Friday 5/29/09

I'm so sorry that I worried a few of you. Just busy with life that's all!

So, as to how many...don't know LOL

I had the ultrasound Friday and we know for sure there's one, but unclear of a second. We will take a closer look tomorrow at ultrasound!

They saw alot of fluid. I have mild OHSS. I was told to push lots of gatorade and water to try and flush it. They will reevaluate the fluid tomorrow as well.

So looks like we are in " How many" limbo LOL Hopefully we know for sure following tomorrow's ultrasound!

Beta from today and Upcoming Appointments!!

Beta today was awesome....1,190! Little bean is doing really well! Please continue to join us in prayer that our little one grows and grows and grows healthy!

The Nurse told me that Friday will be my last beta! That's So that is awesome because my poor arm is suffering LOL

Speaking of Friday...I have my ultrasound! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOo excited because they were going to do it next week, but I get to see my pumpkins early! I will know for sure if I have one or two in there come Friday morning, s0 I'm REALLLLY anxious and excited!

Next Wednesday, I have my first OB appointment with them! I get my weight checked, blood pressure and all that fun stuff! They don't release me to OB of my choice until week 12. as of Friday I'll be 5 weeks, so I will have quite some time with them!

Lastly by this being baby #6 and possibly 7, my uterus DEFINATELY knows what to do. Pants are getting snug and shirts definately fitting, so I went to purchase my first 2 maternity sets yesterday. A yoga capri set and a pair of capris and a cute tank top that sayd " Pregnant is the new skinny" Soooo fun! I will be wearing them as soon as the weather is a little more than 69 degrees LOL I can't wait!

I will update Friday when I get back from ultrasound!

Updates :)

First I'd like to let you all know that I have recieved your emails for those of you who sent me a message with yours. I just didn't post the message as I'm sure you don't want the world knowing it! I have yet to get a few, but I am going to make this private real soon, so lets get them in so you can keep up with us :)

My beta on Friday was 174. It's doubling less than 48 hours so thats very good!

I'm feeling great for the most part. I'm very sleepy all the time! Sore boobies as well. Cravings out of this world! If I crave it, I must have it or nothing else satisfies me! We are on "pelvic rest" so no coming together for us, which is starting to become frustrating for me, but I will live.

My next appointment for beta is wednesdat 5/27/09. See ya then :)

Going to make my blog private!

Starting Monday this will be private. I realize I have given the link out on a couple boards, and I have come to the conclusion that I don't want just anyone reading along, I want the people who really care to do so. I have had a couple emails from people I don't even know asking for updates. That's nice, but I also plan on sharing ultrasounds and things like that with personal info on it that I would feel more comfortable knowing WHO is seeing it, kwim?

So do me a favor and drop me your email, and I will add you to the list of people I choose to read. Everyone on my followers list is safe, just need the emails. Any lurkers that I KNOW, please give me your email and your name that I know you from.

Thanks :)

Betas are in :)

Went in on Monday to get first unofficial beta. By saying unofficial I mean that because the official beta is still set for Friday, but Justyna and I are curios to see what it is now!

Mondays (5/18/09) beta was 25.1. That is a good number for just 7 days past transfer!

Todays beta (5/20/09) is 77! Thank you Lord!!!

I was told today that I would be monitored every other day until beta reaches around 2,000 then we will go in for uultrasound to see baby :)

Success...PREGNANT!!!!!!!

Thank you Lord for your blesing!

So I noticed a taste for Van Holtens Hot pickles, but I felt it was too soon, WAY too soon for cravings. I kept telling myself "You're trippin'" and blew it off.

I tested at 4 days past the transfer, and got a faint, barely there line. So faint that I blew it off as being left over from the trigger. Well the next day, yesterday, I tested with FMU. and the line showed up before I left the bathroom! WOOHOO! Today I tested again and same thing...showed up before I left the bathroom, and a tad darker than yesterdays!!!

I talked to my IVF coordinator Justyna last night and told her about my positive. She's super excited and moved my beta up to tomorrow instead of Friday, so I will update with Beta tomorrow!

Right now I'm just asking for prayers for my little one(s) to stick and our pregnancy is uneventful! Thank you all for your prayers, and Thank you Lord for your blessing!

Trigger is gone!

YAY!!!

So I tested today and it was negative whicj is whay I wanted it to be, because that means the HCG trigger shot is out of my system, so when I see my BFP it means it's true :)

I will be testing Saturday, which is still early actually, but I'm dying to POAS!!

Update ( or lack of) of my little ones

Well The clinic called me to say that they moved my appointment up 1 hour for my transfer. You won't hear me complain about that :D

When I asked how things were going with them, they said they don't give daily updates....that I will find out what happened with them on Monday. That no news is good news. They only call when something went wrong. So i will only know when I get in there to get them put back.

Please continue to pray that my little ones are growing and that we are blessed with a haelthy 9 month pregnancy and healthy baby(ies)

Discovered something this morning.....

So, last night's progesterone in oil shot hurt SO bad that Joseph didn't even want to do it anymore! I SCREAMED when the needle went in. So I got up this morning and looked on youtube to see if I was doing anything wrong, and indeed I was!!!!!

In the world of needles, the smaller the number, the bigger the needle. For example, the needles that came with the progesterone are size 18 ( HUGE) and 22 ( much better and smaller) so anywho I was supposed to be injecting with the 22....I was injecting with 18!!!! OUCH!!!!!!

I'm SO happy that I found what was wrong, because I injected MYSELF this morning ( woohoo!!!) and it was nothing. Thank God, because I will be on this shot to sustain pregnancy all the way until 12 weeks of pregnancy, so pain for 12 weeks wouldn't have allowed me to enjoy the pregnancy as much!

So, I will update when I hear about how my little ones are doing today :)

Report on my little Pumpkins!

I got a call from Justyna (pronounced YOO-Stina) the nurse today....

Out of the 11 retrieved all were mature :) Also, 10 fertilized! 10!! It made me have such a awesome feeling in my heart. I almost cried...those are my little ones!!!

So she said they are doing really well. Felt weird to know someone else is caring for them right now! LOL I'm a weirdo!

We will be transferring them back into mommy on Monday at 11am. I cant wait!

Layed my eggs today!

Today I went in for my retrieval. I was so so SO so nervous. First off, Joseph and I contended with a TON of trafic. We were supposed to be there ar 8:30 am. We got there at 9:am. Procedure was scheduled for 9:45.

I got there and they asked me all of the questions and that jazz. The anesthesiolist was funny and wearing flood pants that made me giggle! He was nice though...very personable. They gave me something in my IV to relax me...it did because I was a wreck.

So they got me all settled in the surgical room and I started to panic. There were SO many people in there...at least 9 staff. All gowned up. I had serious white coat syndrome! They had me place my feet in the stirrups and then then anesthesia guy let me know he was about to put the other meds in my IV. Next thing I knew, they said, "Natosha, you did really well" I thought what? It's over? LOL

So I got 11 eggs. Much less than I thought I would because I had over 30 follies but 11 is still good. I'm thinking of my little ones. Funny how a mothers love is from the very start because I know my baby's are being fertilized with daddys semen, and I'm praying for them already.

I will know more about how my little ones are doing tomorrow. Please pray for my sweeties!

On another note, these cramps are kicking my butt! I am really crampy and gassy too for some reason. Praying for a better day tomorrow!

Today WAS my last monitoring appointment!

YAY!!!!!!

I went in today to have what would turn out to be my last b/w and u/s appointment! I can not express how much I will NOT miss that!

I am fully ready to go. I am only 35 minutes away from my trigger shot. I go in Wednesday for my retreival. Please please join my in praying for lots of mature eggs!

Getting frustrated!

Ugh ugh UGH!!!!

Today i had to go in for another monitoring appointment. I was told Friday that retrieval will be Tuesday. I went ahead and scheduled Tuesday and Wednesday off...even though I had already scheduled Monday off because that was the original day for retrieval.

Well today, I was told it will be wednesday for sure. I wanted to start saying bad words :( I mean come on...I CAN'T keep telling my boss all these days, and can't even muster the nerve to ask her to change it...again! So I will be coming back to work the next day after my procedure, and I'm dreading that thought!

Soo I go back in tomorrow to what SHOULD be my last monitoring...we will see.

I'm getting a tad bit frustrated and I'm drained from all this back and forth. Please pray tomorrow is REALLY my last day, that my couple follies that are behind catch up, and we get the retrieval on the road Wednesday. I'm starting to get a little uncomfy with all these eggs...kinda crampy. GAH!

Not going according to original schedule

I am writing this today in a bummed out mood.

I went in today for what should have been my last day of monitoring. Turns out it won't be the last. When they stepped me down on the Follistim, my follies responded...and well. LOL They slowed down as well. So now Instead of Monday's Retrieval, it will be Tuesday or later! I am bummed.

So I have my next Monitoring appointment Sunday. Please pray all my follies are mature enough, and that my estrogen levels are ok to do my retrieval tuesday!

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Monitoring appointment today!

Went good! All my numbers looked really good. I am continuing on 75 repronex, 75 follistim, 5 lupron. I am also a bit confused too.....the u/s tech said my lead follie was 13...IVF coordinator said lead was 11. May not be alot of difference in numbers, but in the IVF world it is, so I hope they figure it out.

My next, and probably last, appointment before egg retrieval is Friday the 1st! I'm praying all is well for Monday!

Monday, April 27, 2009

Monitoring appointment today...and more

I went in this morning for my monitoring appointment. Since I have over 30 follicles, they want to be careful with me. The u/s tech said all went well.

I got my call from the nurse at around 2pm. She told me to reduce my follistim from 150 units to 75 units. My estrogen had skyrocketed! So I'm on less stims, and feeling better too. No jabs in the ovary type pain! My retrieval is still tentatively Monday the 4th, so keep praying!

And today i was offered that new job. I was very open about the IVF with the Director who admired my desire to grow my family! What a blessing!

First Day of Stims!

Went well I guess LOL

This morning I was soooooo nervous about dh giving me my shot, but he was so good with it. Followed instructions exactly, and was very gentle with me...I wub him!

This evening when I did my shot of Lupron and Follistim, nothing wanted to go right...UGH! So there was an air bubble in my syringe with the Luron that wouldn't budge, so I had to keep retrying that. Then with the follistim pen, the meds kept leaking out once I put the needle on. VERY annoying because that medicine is NOT cheap stuff!

I have some sort of bump on my Luron site today :( I have been on Lupron a while now, so I don't know why the reaction? But anyway, I feel great and can't wait to see what my eggies are doing come Monday!

Friday, April 24, 2009

Update! Results of todays Baseline ultrasound and bloodwork

I went in today to have my baseline stuff done. You know, the ultrasound tech can use a lesson in GENTLENESS..sheesh! You're dealing with a delicate area lady, and I don't need you JABBING that thing in me! Ok, vent over! I did tell her that from now on, I will be placing the probe ....period!

So I got a call from the clinic and my numbers were good! She said I have OVER 30 follicles, so they will have to be very careful with me. They are probably going to lower my dosage of meds, depending on the outcome of my u/s and b/w on monday, but for now we are moning along as planned....75 units of repronex, 150 units of follistim, and 5 units lupron. I take my last 10 units of Lupron tonight! WHOOPEE!!!! I'm moving along!

Another thing happened today...I got a call from yet ANOTHER job that I applied for! They will conduct a phone interview with me Monday at 10 am. Meanwhile I have my second interview at the other place. I think I may stick with the place I have already interviewed at. It's REAL close to home, and Im thinking about the fact that when I have my baby, hubby can bring the kids there on my lunch and I can nurse my baby :D So yeah, that's my reasoning. Of course, I'll let the Lord lead the way!

Anywho.....I'm nervous about the repronex shot for a few reasons. #1....dh has to give it in my butt! LOL He had the training at the clinic, but I wonder if he's nervous. He said no, but even if he was, he will NOT admit it LOL! #2.....the butt shots are known to hurt, but in this journey, I do know "No pain, no gain" LOL I will follow my friend Lisas advice and ice the area 15 minutes before injection and have a heating pad available for after.

After my first stimulation injections tomorrow, i will let you know how it goes. We will be doing repronex at 5 am...yep THAT early because dh works during the week, and we have to coincide the shots with times he will be here and this shot MUST be done in AM..per my RE. Follistim and Lupron in the evening at 5 and 5:30. Will update when it's all done!

Thursday, April 23, 2009

Interview went pretty good!

I was soooooo nervous!

I don't know why? I mean, I have done this before, but for some reason I was. Maybe because they asked a billion questions LOL. Oh yeah...they. I was interviewed by two people.

So at the end, they told me that the next steps would be a Second interview and then a physical, drug and alcohol screening. Well....they called me yesterday with my date for second interview!

Im praying that I get the job!

Monday, April 20, 2009

Took my last BCP today!

I have been on BCP since March 22.....can I tell you I will NOT miss them? SIGH....that part was boring! I am on Lupron only until Saturday! Saturday I start stims!!! YAY!

My next update will be Wednesday...after my job interview. Please join me in prayer that I am blessed with this job as it's so close to home! Thank you!

Thursday, April 16, 2009

I have an interview at another job!

I have a interview set up for Next week. I am so very nervous though.

I applied for full time. While I will get full time, the first three months during training will be part time...VERRRRY part time. Mondays for 4 hours, and Sat and Sunday 8 hours. That will take some gettng used to financially, but I am at the stage where I am battling finances versus peace of mind. The peace of mind from the bipolar bosses I have now seems like Heaven. Finances is easy too...I just have to give up my Gymboree and janie and Jack addiction for a while.....really will be a good thing! LOL

In the end, I have to talk this over with dh and get his input. I know three months isn't a long time, and he may see it that way as well. Will just have to see! I will however still go to the interview :)

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

First Shot was today....

And I DID IT I DID IT I DID IT!!!!!!!!

I had to do it at work because I work until 10 pm tonight and per my IVF coordinator, I have to take it in the evening between 5 and 7pm. I went with 5 pm.

I did everything as instructed. Why oh why does it seem like there is hardly any meds in that vial? LOL

So after shaking like a leaf, I was sooooo nervous and wished my first day of injections was in the comfort of my own home with my hubby cheering me on, but I sat in the bathroom of my job and did it instead. It did feel like a pinch but a tiny one :)

So day one on Lupron! The best is coming :D So right now, I'm on BCP and Lupron...until the 20th when I d/c BCP.

Saturday, April 11, 2009

Almost time for my first shot

Well Tuesday I will start my Lupron! Today I went through the box of meds and pulled out my box of alcohol pads, my Lupron kit, my needles and my sharps container in preparation for my upcoming start of injections.

Who gets excited about having to stick themselves with needles?!?!?!?!?!MEEEEEEEE :D

We did something about our mean supervisor!

My coworkers and I (11 of us total) all got together and decided enough is enough with our supervisor. She depresses us and makes us feel real small, so we decided to write the director. we all compiled everyones thoughts into one letter. It's intimidating because the director of our department is our supervisors friend, but we did let the director know that we have every intention on taking this to human resources if she can't get anything done. I'm so proud of us! I am going to paste the letter here. I will have you all know though, that I am looking for another job. I will not be stressed out and risk my pregnancy and baby. Nothing is worth it! So here is the letter below the line. Jan is the director...Sue is the devil...I mean supervisor
____________________________________________________________________

Dear Jan.

The PM shift would like to present some concerns we have.
In no way is this intended to “bash” Sue. We do not want her to loose her job; we are just trying to get some respect from her. We want her to respect us as people, as well as employees.
We begin by mentioning the high turn over rate on the PM shift, where is the problem? Hopefully some of the following information will help.

Almost the entire evening shift wanted to speak to you, but most backed out because Sue makes it no secret to us,
· that you are her grandkids Godmother
· that you are her POA for healthcare
· how you traveled with her by helicopter when her grandson passed away
· how your husband and her husband are co workers and friends

so even after talking about meeting with you for about a week, the thought of it has scared everyone away from the actual face to face meeting. Resorting to compiling a letter to say what and how we feel. The contemplation of going to HR is there, but we felt like we wanted to address this with you first.

Some of the points are personal some are how everyone is feeling.

It is very difficult to focus at work, because of the constant worry about being yelled at or talked down to. We all understand the need for correction, but the form of correction that we receive from Sue is almost a punishment. It’s not about what you say…its how you say it.
We always feel like we are walking on egg shells with Sue, is today going to be a bad day or a really bad day. Good days with Sue are few and far between.
Many people from the PM shift are afraid to approach her, she is very confrontational. She says if you have a question, come and ask, but then when you do, you are made to feel stupid, and that makes us apprehensive to ask her anything else.
People from the ER are afraid to come down to the office because they are afraid of her!
Many of us dread coming to work because we have to work with Sue. When Sue is not here, everything goes smoothly, work is enjoyable, but when she is here, we can’t even talk to each other, if we do she is right there, giving us something to do, or inquiring about what we are suppose to be doing. In my opinion, this is not how the work environment should be. People are more efficient and eager to do well, when they are happy and content with their job.
Sue is consistently looking over our shoulders, controlling our every move. She questions our every move and what we are doing. She stands behind us while we enter patients; she gives hand signals in the waiting area to tell us that we need to move the patient along, not allowing them time to talk, when grieving. Where is the Magis in that? Where is her Care, Concern, Compassion and Respect? We understand the job is fast paced, but brushing a patient out the door who may need just 2 minutes of a listening ear? We have been told that if we are in the middle of registering a patient, if it is 5:00pm we need to begin our lunches, so we need to stop what we are doing and go to lunch, passing the patient along to another co-worker, regardless if the other person has a patient or not. I know if I was a patient being registered I would not like to be passed off, like a number just so someone can go to lunch? We actually get in trouble fro Sue if this does not happen.
We don’t think it is fair that as adults we have to tip toe around here, afraid to do something wrong, afraid to get into trouble. We SHOULD be able to go to our supervisor and ask questions when they arise, without being lashed out at.
When Sue has a day off, she still calls into work to see what is going on, did anyone go for Sigs, were lunches done on time, it is overwhelming! Then we received an email from her about leaving early on weekends, Jan we never called Sue just to ask her if we could go home, if she called in to check on us, we might have asked, or if we had something else to ask, then we would ask her that. We would never bother her on her day off to ask that!
Sue has a habit of threatening us with your name, well I am going to have to ask Jan if that is OK, or I will have to tell Jan about this. As if we are being threatened.
Sue continues to give ANYONE who calls in for a sick day or personal day a hard time. We would understand if it was someone who consistently called off, but it’s not, she gives everyone a hard time. It should not be this way, if you are sick and can’t come in then that should be OK.
We never know what to expect.
Sue needs to understand we are all adults. I understand her expectations are high, as are mine for myself; however she creates a terrible work environment.
Sue likes things done HER way. This creates a lot of frustration for new employees. We are not trained by Sue, therefore when we do something in a different way; she once again gives us an attitude as if we have been told hundreds of times over.
There are several of us whom like our jobs, and are considering looking for a job elsewhere, because of the tension Sue creates. We can’t work this way.
We don’t hear positive feedback from Sue. The first time we heard anything positive was when she emailed us about not being able to leave early, she said she was proud of the PM shift, this was a welcome surprise!

Here are a few specific examples:

Here is a reenactment of what happened.
I was learning how to type death certificates…I typed one and showed it to Sue for review, she looked at it, and then said in a sarcastic way “why did you type the address this way?” Well, because that is the way I was trained. Sue replied “By who?” I said Kim. Sue replied “she didn’t train you that way; she doesn’t type them like this!” OK so now I am lying. Kim does type the address in two lines, as well as Donna Mac! But I am a liar!
This type of incident has happened more than once to me!
I went to Sue once because a doctor was on the phone and was asking if there were any floor beds available, her response to me; she had a paper in her hand that she slammed on the desk and said “Didn’t I tell you how to answer those kind of calls? Let them know that we are working on beds! You should know this! This is just one of many times this sort of thing happens to all of us.
We are told to take messages for beds, then when we do, we get yelled at because we didn’t do it right.
This is the way it is for us each and every night.

The above examples are just a couple things that we have experienced; these things make us so intimidated by her to the point of being afraid to ask questions, which we know in the end affects our job functions.

Even if nothing above matters, just the fact that it is scary enough working with her should be enough to do something about this.
There are never any good days, just stressed days…very stressed days.

The only reason I am still here, in this position, is because I love working at Loyola. I know for certain that this is the place for me. I have been blessed and have been a blessing to very many here. If I had one wish, it would be that I had just as good of an experience in this department as well.

Our last thought….
Some of us literally say a prayer asking God for strength before we walk in the door every day. We should not have to work like this!

Today's appointment!

Today, I went in to follow up on the fibroid. I just submitted it all in The Lords hands.

I went in and at first they gave me a regular U/S where they saw nothing. The U/S lady said they wouldn't get a clear view of inside the uterus until the doc injected the saline in there. So I sat aptiently waiting for the doc to come in ( 30 minutes at least)

When she came in, I did let her know that if surgery was my only option, that I wasn't taking that option as i just had uterine surgery in January and I was just unwilling to do it. I told her that it's been nice working with her, but uh-uh, I won't be doing another surgery. She said ok. So onto the U/S we go....

At first they saw nothing, and then they saw something :( I was SO sad at first because I knew this would be it if so. Then she said " Oh look, it's not glowing so it's DEFINATELY not a fibroid, but WHAT is that?" so her and the U/S tech painfully twirl the wand and all that jazz looking. My doctor decided she wanted to investigate, so she pokes at the "finding" with the catheter and it moves around. She says" Oh, this is JUST tissue" She then proceeds to use the catheter to break up the tissue ( MAJOR ouchie :( ) and then said it was all done! I am good to go....no surgery required!

I am tentatively scheduled for egg retrieval May 4th or 5th. Egg transfer will be May 9th or 10th.

The were over the moon impressed with my eggs...saying I have alot of eggs already! My left ovary held 5 follicles and my right held 6 (or vice verse) and they were saying how good that was. Well, since i know nothing about what would normally be there, i trust them! LOL

So for now, BCP. I start Lupron on April 14th :D

It's my Birthday!

I am so blessed this day! The love of family and friends have been so full that it's almosst overwhelming...which is a beautiful thing!

It's my "Dirty 30" and I'm loving every second of it.

I must confess...I made up a reason to go to Walmart so that I could cry my EYES out! This also marks the 9th anniversary of my best friend and cousin Delia "Nina"Thomas being murdered at the age of 22 by her husband. 9 years ago today, we were so giddy about me turning 21. We were going out to" party like tomorrow wasn't coming" was my cousins exact words to me at around 8:00 am on March 29,2000. I had NO idea that her tomorrow WOULD never come. I remember going shopping for my outfit. Going to get my hair fixed, a mani and a pedi. I went downtown to Macy's to let them do my make up....I was going to do it BIG that day. I called Nina at around 2pm to check her progress...no answer. Not unusual....she had a 3 yr old and a 3 month old....prolly either busy with the babies, or trying to find a babysitter. She'll call back. So I go home, get dressed, looking GOOD may I add ;) and call all of my friends to tell them what time to meet me at the club. See, we were going to Dave and busters, but AFTER we went to shake our groove things at the club! LOL So I look up, it's 8pm, no Nina yet. Now I knew that was not like her. We grew up like sisters and we talked at LEASt 4 times a day. I call my aunt, Nina's mom. "Nina There?" My aunt replies "No, baby, Nina aint here...I have to go" I call her house again....no answer. So I KNOW that Nina knows where we are going, so I figure, eh, she'll show up. Maybe Jermaine (her husband) is tripping again and they may be into it again. So if she can't make it or if she shows late....no biggie. My friends pick me up....we are on our way! We are JAMMING to the music in the car. Then. I . GET.A. CALL. FROM. MOM. "Tosha, hey , what are you doing?" I say" On our way to the club then to dave and busters" mom says "Are you driving" I say yeah she says "wherever you are, pull over. Let me speak to Tanika ( my friend)" I later found out that she BEGGED Tanika to not leave me that night. To bring me to where everyone was. So when Tanika, visually disturbed gave me the phone back I hear "I don't know how to tell you this but to give it to you just how it happened. Today we lost Nina. Jermaine kiled her" MAN my world fell apart. I still to this day dont know what happened besides the fact that I screamed so hard that My voice was gone for 2 weeks. Literally..GONE! We headed over to the familys house, where i learned my sweet cousin had been pronounced dead at 10:45 that morning. After I talked to her at 8am, her and her husband bickered, and he shot my cousin 14 times...reloading twice. Thankfully the second shot is the one that killed her...she didn't have to feel 12 more bullets pumped into her body. Unfortunately, both of their children were home, and her 3 year olds bloody footprints were everywhere. What a HORRIBLE thing happened to us 9 years ago today. It's the WAY she died that hurts so bad. She didn't deserve that...not even an animal deserves a over killof a death like that.

I cried today, not only because I miss her so, but this is such a milestone that she will never get to share with me....ANOTHER milestone that my cousin will not be here with me to celebrate. I went to mourn. I miss her. I bought her a pretty flower thingy for her grave, took it out there and came back home :) I actually told the family that I went for earrings, and I did get those. Nobody but you all knows about my pit stop....they would worry. I don't want them to worry about me, because it's not just THIS day that I have breakdowns. It's almost everyday for the past 9 years. Her mom recently passed away and her mom and I were her best friends, so I felt fine knowing she has one of her best friends in Heaven with her now!

Nina, I miss you more than you will EVER know. There will never be another you. I no longer have anyone to tell EVERY little detail of life to, but God needed you there more than I need you here, so I just ask while you are up there, to please pray for all of us today. Its hard. Even in light of everyone coming over to give me birthday wishes and all, none of us will ever forget what a heinous day this is in our family either.Rest in perfect peace "Chocolate Star" I will mourn you until the day I join you!

My family always called us "Chocolate Star" and "Caramel Sparkle" And if I have twin girls through this Journey, their names will be Sparkle and Starr :)

Really rough day at work...and confessed my journey!

I had a really rough day at work today. My supervisor is just never satisfied with anything anyone does around there, and she pulled me in the office for some petty, simple stuff that would have gone unnoticed if she wasn't looking for something.

Well after I boo hooed away ( I wish I hadn't done that though...I don't want her thinking Im weak) I told her I don't need her stressing me out as I am on the road to having another baby and before I let her stress me that bad, I will go back to being a stay at home mom.

She then wants to know all about how we're doing it. I told her that's personal and only the people who really cares about me deserve to know. My one coworker was so proud of me for saying that. She said it was a nice way to tell her " none of your business" And this coworker knows btw

So anywho I was greeted at home by my sweet husband....who met me at the door with a huge hug and kiss. It was just what I needed to end my dreaded day. I love him so much. He knew I had a bad day and asked me had he brightened it a little ( I guess by greeting me) and I told him nothing else mattered at that point...and it didn't. I love him!

Maybe not over!

I called the Nurse yesterday to ask a few questions that I had lingering on.

I asked her if it turned out to be a fibroid, then will this cancel my cycle. She said no way....it will just push back the IVF for two weeks. So maybe I will reconsider having a procedure if one is needed. I was set on not following through if I needed one. The last clini I went to said after they did procedures they made patients wait 8 weeks.

I have been praying that it's not a fibroid at all!

Day 2 labs and bloodwork

On Tuesday March 23,2009 I went in for my Day 2 labs and ultrasound. I went in and did that and was told to wait for the nurse to call with instructions and results.

The Nurse called and told me that all of my labs were good, and to start birth control pills! I was so excited....until I heard that "BUT"...

BUT we noticed a small Fibroid on the ultrasound. It may be the lingering effect of the polyp that I had removed, and they won't know for sure until I have another ultrasound, so I have that scheduled for next Monday. If it's lingering from the polyp....I'm good. If it's a new fibroid, removal is needed.

Well that's just the thing...If in fact I need to have it removed, I'm just calling it quits. I have been through my share with this and getting pregnant is something I did perfectly fine 5 times, so to continue to be poked and prodded...I don't have the energy! So I am praying that this is not a fibroid so that I may continue without incident. If it is a fibroid...my journey is probably over.

Today is CD1 for me! HOORAY!!!!

That means it's day 1 of my cycle (CD1=cycle day 1) I was originally scheduled for tomorrow fpr cd3 labs and ultrasound, but that has to change to Tuesday, which is fine. I was off tomorrow so that would have been perfect, but Tuesday is good too. My future baby is worth it :)

Our Appointment Wednesday 3/18/09

We went in and met with our IVF coordinator. She was really nice, but with a strong accent, so it took lots of concentration to "get" her.

She showed Joseph how to give me the shots that he needs to give me, and boy am I nervous, LMBO! He seemed to happy to hurt me LOL Just kidding. My honey is so into this as much as me, and I just love him so much!

The coordinator discussed the possibility of twins with us. I already knew that but I wasn't too certain if had sank in for Joseph, but turns out he knew and is perfectly fine if that happens :)

So we made up my IVF calendar based on my cycle starting on day 28 like it has since I had a period at 12, and that date that it was to start was yesterday #/20/09. What do you know? She did not come! LOL So hopefully she starts today because then everything can still go according to the calendar. I have a feeling she will be here because I'm feeling quite crampy.

I have an appointment Monday for labs and ultrasound then We. ARE. OFF!!! This is all contingent on AF coming today at the latest, so come on why don't you!!

Meds are us!

We recieved our medications yesterday....everything except our PIO which will be in the week before our retrieval. I was so excited!

I was eager to get home from work because it was dh's first day back home in 2 weeks. He had to train for the job in Kansas and I missed him so very much. I have been nothing but smiles since he's been home!

Anywho, I am even excited to see my needles...which is something others have told me would frighten me. NOT I! I was excited to see them! To me, it means " THIS IS IT!!! We are really going to do this! We are really TTC our 6th, or 6th and 7th baby!"

Soooooo very exciting!

Meds are shipped!!!!

Today I got a call from the pharmacy! My medications are on their way and due to arrive Friday! YYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

I also got my prescriptioned filled for my birth control pills, so those are at home ready to go!

The only thing was the pharmacy didn't have the Novarel in stock, so they are forwarding that to Freedom Fertility Pharmacy so it can be filled there.

Call from the financial lady at the clinic......

And I'm excited about it too!!!

So today the financial counselor called to give me my total bill...$8,000! Which includes EVERYTHING....including freezing any remainders if we so choose.

We were about to pay more than that at the old clinic for JUST the Egg retrieval and Transfer alone! Total at the clinic we came from would have been upwards around $13,000 for all!

So next Wednesday when we go in, we pay that.

The switching of doctors and the new plan

So I switched doctors and did so today!

The old doctor......let's just talk about that! After going round and round in circles with her for everything, from the Leukemia scare to the "Oh THIS is the month you would start" and EVERY time hearing " Well next month" I decided to ask " Tell me what is REALLY going on?!?!?!" Well the answer I got was " Dr. ____" doesn't have Malpractice at the outside location ( that's the place that has to do the retreival/transfer) so we can't start until that happens" .......WELL WHY TAKE PATIENTS, BUILD UP HOPES, ONLY TO SAY RIGHT NOW YOU CANT?!?!

Oh I. WAS. LIVID!!!

So I knew I was on a quest for a new doc, but I felt a sway to go to the clinic I originally scheduled myself for. I called Friday and to my surprise there was an opening Monday the 9th! So I went today.....and it was fantastic. From the moment I walked in I felt "This is IT!" I took all of my results from the old doctor so no other testing is needed YAY! The other doctor even ordered my meds already. The only thing the new doc is doing different is putting me on birth control pills.

I have to call with CD1 of my menses. I then go in on day 3 to measure follicle size. BCPs start that day as well.

Tentative Egg retrieval is first week of May!!!!!!

Boy did I not know that when I named this blog "Our JOURNEY to a new addition" that the word Journey would be what we were up against, but I know it will be worth every minute of it!

Monday, March 2, 2009

Some dates are set!

So, March 5, 2009 is the day I go in for injection class! HOORAY!!!!!! On this day, I will get the day to come in for our mock transfer. I will be alone on this day, because my honey is out of town :( I miss him SO much, but it's for his job and I know he HAD to go. Please pray with me that the Lord covers my husband with his shield of protection until my baby is back safely in my arms!

Dh and I go in on March 19,2009 for orientation. On this day, we will sign all of our consent forms and things like that. WOOHOO!

Friday, February 27, 2009

So March is definately it!!!

HOORAY!!!!

My cycle that is due to start March 21 is the cycle that we get going on our Journey! We are VERY excited!

Dh and I have to go in either Thursday March 5,2009 or March 12,2009. The nurse said for us to pick. Problem is dh will be out of town on both those days, so it will be just me going to class. They will have to just show him another time or have me show him. That is the last step. After class is done I will give the ok for payment to th epharacy and my meds will be shipped then!

So I am praying so hard for my little one (s) already. I ask all of you watching to please join us as well :)

Getting this party started!!!

And I am so excited that I can hardly eat!

So Serena, the Nurse, called me today and told me to go get my blood drawn tomorrow at 9 am. I am then to call her at 2pm to get my results and then I will know the rest of what to do from there. YIPEEEEE!!!!

so please pray for us.....that we will be so very blessed!!!

What has been going on!

It's been a LONG month! At one point I thought that the IVF was something we were not going to be able to do, and I will explain why....

During IVF you have to do all the testing and all that. Well you all know about the polp and and my surgery to remove it.For my pre testing, I had to have lots of bloodwork, due to having history of thrombocytopenia during pregnany as well as Sickle Cell trait.....they wanted to be thorough. Well, after surgery, they tell me my bloodwork was abnormal and told me it was a chance that the way my blood was, I could have leukemia. Talk about being freaked out!!!

I went through all of the testing and saw a hematologist and to make a long story short, I am FINE! God is SO good a merciful to those who believe in him wholeheartedly. I was scared, but in my heart I KNEW I was fine, because I have faith and his word tells me if I tell a mountain to move from here to there, it will move. I reminded myself of his promise to those with faith as small as a mustard seed. I said to myself " Well my faith is HUGE so if those with mustard seed faith can move mountains, imagine what I could do!"

So I will call the clinic tomorrow to see if they want me to do it this month (my cycle should start anywhere between tomorrow and Monday!!!) or continue to wait until Next month. EIther way is fine with me and I am extremely excited!!!!

Forgive me for not updating, but this was very stressful for me. Now I need to regrow my nails...I bit them all off!

Oh and also during this month I lost a dear online friend. She was only 37 years young and lost her battle with breast cancer. She was dianosed less than a year ago. She leaves behind two sweet children and a wonderful husband. Please keep Renee's family in your prayers.

Day after surgery

And I am in a little pain :(

My lower back is SO achey. Dh went out and bought me some hot patches as well as Ibuprofren to ease my pain. I am still on the soup and sandwhich diet, which I am yearning for REAL food now LOL!

I got a call from the clinic today to see how I am doing and to get my follow up appointment. That will be in two weeks...January 28th at 1pm.

It's funny, because while I feel pain after surgery, I can hardly focus on the pain. All I see is the light at the end of the tunnel, my beautiful blessings (s) that I am already praising God for. So this pain is so worth it.

No pain, no gain, right? ;)

Surgery was today

For the Polyp removal. I was so nervous that I was making myself sick :(

BUT praise God I was nervous for nothing. It went extremely well! They got all the stuff out of there to make room for my little one(S) and I'm very happy!

REI called us today and let us know that DH's swimmers are excellent! So that was even better news! She also changed the plans a bit and said she wants to wait until my February cycle to do my blood testing and mock transfer. This will all determine which protocol she wants to use for us. So now I go for post op follow up in a week, and then I wait for my February cycle to begin. We're coming along in this journey and I feel so blessed!
