So it's been a while since I updated. Sorry :)
I went in in on 12/8/08 for my inital consult with my REI. She is So nice and a very YOUNG doctor. This doctor totally understood me and made me feel SO comfy. We did the consult and she told me I'm totally not a candidate for reversal because I was burned ( cauterized) so IVF is it. She told me that my success rate would be high because I have no other issues but needing to bypass my tubes. She told me all the testing I will neeed, told me all about the procedure and classes needed, and we are set!
I went in on 12/11/08 to get my Sline Ultrasound to determine if any polyps were in the uterus. There was one, so that's a little setback, as I have to get it removed first through minor outpatient procedure. I also had my infectious disease testing that day as well, and everything came back fine just as I knew they would.
12/31/08 dh went in for his Semen Analysis and his infectious disease testing. Let me tell you that Semen analysis test was...interesting to say the least. No real privacy was there. Dh was MORE than willing to go which was a blessing because I hear alot of women say their dh's wouldn't go. Anyway the lady gives us the cup and gives instructions, and we "got going" ;)
It was pretty embarrassing and dh and I sniggle and giggled almost the entire time. Dh was pretty shocked that he had to get so many tubes of blood taken, but I told him to hush as his part is over after that one day! LOL
I got a call today from the nurse to let me know that they are going to call my pharmacy this week to get my meds ordered! That reallllly excited me. I mean I KNOW we are doing this, but getting the meds ordered makes it so official! I have even begun to get comfy with letting people in real life know about it, because I didn't want to hear peoples negative comments, but now I feel like this is OUR life and we get to choose what we will do in it :)
Final update....I have an appointment Jan.7,2009 to consult with the OB/GYNE who will perfrom my outpatient procedure.....then I will get a date to get it done and then we should know what cycle the actual IVF will start on.
Edited to add ...I don't know why this shows a posting date of 12/9, but I wrote this 1/4/09.

Quick update!
Ok, so the place I was going before on the 16th decided they wanted nothing more to do with our insurance and cancelled their contract with insurance, which in turn made us cancell the appt.
Well I have since found out MY hospital that I work at accepts it. So guess what? Not only do we have a new doctor, we have a closer appointment.
New appointment 12/8/08 :) I'll let ya know how it goes!!!!!

My cards came!!!!
When I came home from work last night, my cards were here!!! YAAAAAAAY!!!
And just in the knick of time! Monday starts the first day I'm effective with the plan, so the doctors office needs my group number in order to process the claims and such :)
Well, I'm one step closer! I'm STARTING to contain myself, but when things like cards come in the mail, I'm filled with pure excitement all over again hehe.

SO freaking excited!!!!
Well I have been doing my research until I have headaches LOL! I was looking into low cost IVF meds websites and all that. STILL costly, even with "low cost" title. SO I was begining to get frustrated when my dh reminded me that we DO have pharmacy coverage with his insurance.
Well I didn't think they would have anything to do with IVF meds because most insurances don't, but I looked into it and low and behold.....ALL of my meds would be covered with a copay of $10-$25 per med! I SO SUPER EXCITED!!!!!!!
We're talking meds that are upward on the scale of $400 .....MAX I would pay is $25. The Lord is really looking out for us through all this. Praise God!

Ok guys....help me out!
I'm trying to subscribe to everyone's blogs. Somehow the computer illiteracy is kicking in again and I can't figure it out LOL! SO point a sillyhead like me in the right direction!
Other news....I am patiently ( yeah right) waiting on my new insurance cards to make it in the mail. Why oh why are they taking so long? Because they really aren't taking long! LOL
They should be here by next weeks end, so I just need to take a chill pill and relax!
I have my little Godson Jameer over this weekend. He is 14 months old and I'm really getting a kick out of him! He's so cute and funny. He walks like Fred Sanford and it's the most hillarious thing you ever want to see :)

Thank God for calming down!
I've been SO super excited about all this that it's all I have thought about. Drink sleep eat IVF. But I'm starting to calm down and embrace it, and not fret or focus solely on it.
So today I made casual mention of a new baby to the kids. Conversation went as follows;;;
Me: Hey guys, what do you all think of having a baby brother or sister?
DJ: NOOOOOOO!!!! ( LOL)
Dominique : oooohh mommy you're having a baby?
Janiya: Ooohhh can it be a sister?
Kendyl: said nothing but smiled
Khyri : I want a baby brother
So I wanted to get a feel of how they felt about it. We won't actually tell them anything until the time comes.

Change of appointment
Today the doctors office called and said they had a couple patients switching insurances and therefore had to cancel their appointments to go where their insurance approved. They asked me if I would like one of the new appointments....SURE I would!
So my appointment is December 16th, 2008. That's the initial consult and to find a course of action :) Ummm...need I tell you I'm excited?!?!?!?!?

Getting my blog started!
This is my first post to my Journal. YaY!
Here's the story.... I am happily married to the love of my life...Joseph. We are the proud parents of 5...13 yr old DJ, 10 yr old Dominique, 61/2 year old Janiya, 5 year old Kendyl and 3 1/2 yr old Khyri.
After the birth of Khyri, without any thoughts on the matter, I had my tubes tied. You see, in my mind, 5 was enough. Everyone convinced me that my family should be complete by adding their little comments..." Girl, you're the little old lady who lives in a shoe"..." Is this IT??!?!?" ..."I know this is the last one" need I go on? Plus, withing 3 1/2 yrs, I had given birth to 3 kids, so I was tired so to speak. So I had a tubal ligation....bipolar cauterization to be exact.
Well, it was not long after my tubes were tied that I realized I made a HUGE mistake. I regretted it badly. The regret was starting to turn into depression. I talked to my husband over and over again about either getting a reversal or IVF....he was NOT trying to hear me. So then I turned to God. I BEGGED him to remove this desire from me because without my husbands support, I could not go through with either procedure. God never removed the strong desire for another baby. Ok, so I then asked him if it was in His Will for our lives, to then soften the heart of my husband.
I will never forget the day my life changed. Wednesday 11/5/08, my husband very sweetly said to me Ok baby, we can do it. Let's have another baby. He said much more than that but I was ELATED! SO my search began.
Because I only want to do this once more, I think the surgery isn't the right option for us. I want to take the IVF route. So my search began! I do have an appointment with one clinic on January 20, 2009, but I think I want to also do a consult with a clinic that a friend of mine, who story is a mirror image of mine, went through. She has succesfully completed two round of IVF with them....resulting in a set of twins and a singleton.
